Character Name: Danny Gallagher

Eric Roberts stars as Alexander Villard, a former olympic fencing champion who retired from competition undefeated and went on to teach in his own fencing studio.

The movie centers around Max Suba, F. Murray Abraham, who comes to Roberts for a job — a teaching job.

However, Villard only offers him a position as a janitor. Abraham takes the job but trains with the other fencing instructor, Danny Gallagher (Brett Cullen).

It is easy to see Suba has a personal vendetta against Villard and that he is training to regain more than his fencing skills.
