Character Name: Prof. James Dawson

In “The Affair” Brett Cullen plays Ally’s law professor, with whom she has a brief affair while attending law school. She is confronted by the professor’s wife, and becomes torn between telling the truth about her affair or lying to the professor’s wife to spare her feelings.

Finally Ally decides to lie to the professor’s wife thinking that telling the truth will only cause more pain.
